You blog can be a valuable marketing tool used to capture leads, build your authority, and provide awareness for your business. One of the biggest benefits of your blog is the opportunity to capture leads. In this post, I’ll walk you through ? lead generation opportunities you can take advantage of to capture leads for your business.

There are three main opportunities you can capitalize on to capture leads from the traffic that lands on your blog. You can create call-to-action (CTA) links, landing page or lead boxes in three areas on your blog page. The three areas are in the body of the text, in the sidebar, and in the footer.

Before I share with you examples of where you would place your links, images, and lead boxes I’d like to first explain what a call-to-action (CTA) is. A call-to-action is an instruction to your audience that is intended to provoke a response. Common CTA’s that you might see or use are: “Call Now”, “Download this Report”, or “Click Here”.

In order to get your audience to take the action you are provoking with your CTA you must provide them with value or a benefit they will gain in taking that action. Ideally, you would offer your audience something of value in exchange for their contact information. The “value item” is often referred to as a lead magnet (or as I like to call it – an irresistible offer). I prefer to call it an irresistible offer because in today’s marketing environment, if your offer isn’t irresistible your audience likely will not take the action you have requested from them.

Once you have decided on what you would like your irresistible offer to be you would create a link, landing page or lead box that they can click to take action and enter their information in exchange for your offer.
